The Weight of Love Podcast is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
- All interactive elements are keyboard navigable
- All images carry descriptive alt text
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA standards across the site
- Form fields all have associated visible labels
- The embedded Spotify player can be operated by keyboard and screen reader
- Animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query, disabling all transitions and animations for users who prefer it - Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
- The site uses semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, nav, section, footer) to assist screen reader navigation
- A skip-to-content link is present at the top of the page
- Text resizes correctly up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- The Instagram feed widget (provided by Elfsight) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are monitoring Elfsight's accessibility updates.
- The embedded Spotify player has limited accessibility on certain screen readers. We recommend using the native Spotify app for the best experience.
- Some decorative SVG illustrations within topic tiles may not be fully described to screen readers in all browsers.
Browser and assistive technology support
This website is designed to work with modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. We test on the latest versions where possible.
Text sizing and display
You can increase or decrease text size using your browser settings. The site uses relative units throughout so text reflows correctly at all sizes. If you prefer high contrast, your operating system or browser high-contrast mode will be respected.
